AeroPress
How to Brew
1. Prep the gear: Place the AeroPress on top of your mug or carafe. Insert a paper filter into the filter cap & rinse it with hot water to remove any paper taste & preheat the brewing equipment.
2. Weigh your Coffee: Measure out your coffee beans. For a standard AeroPress brew, a ratio of 1:15 coffee to water works well (around 15g of coffee to 225g of water). Grind your beans to a medium-fine consistency, similar to table salt.
3. Add Coffee to AeroPress: Add your ground coffee into the AeroPress. Make sure the coffee is evenly distributed for an even extraction.
4. Start Brewing: Begin the timer & pour hot water into the AeroPress, saturating all of the grounds. Use a circular motion to ensure even extraction. For the full AeroPress experience, you’ll want to pour up to the top, about 225g of water.
5. Stir & Steep: Stir the mixture gently using a spoon or stir stick for about 10 seconds to ensure the coffee grounds are fully saturated. Allow the coffee to steep for around 30 seconds to 1 minute (you can adjust this to taste). The longer the steep, the stronger the brew.
6. Pressing Time: After steeping, attach the filter cap, and carefully invert the AeroPress over your mug or carafe. Slowly press down on the plunger with steady, even pressure. The coffee should take about 20-30 seconds to fully press.
7. Enjoy your brew: Once you’ve fully pressed the coffee, remove the AeroPress and discard the grounds & filter. Your coffee is ready to enjoy! You can drink it black or add milk or cream if desired. Sip & Enjoy.
